The perfect family paddling Halloween river festival is at the Nantahala Outdoor Center. Five hundred pie pumpkins are released into the river each with a unique number on the bottom. Kayakers race down the class III Nantahala Falls trying to gather as many pumpkins as possible to hopefully win prizes in the raffle that follows. Here is our effort Famagogo style.
